What the...?

We have a spare bedroom and out of habit, when I'm in that part of the house I look in to see which pet(s) are sleeping in there.  Today when I looked in I saw something very suspicious, like one of them had pooped on the blanket on the bed.  Upon further inspection, I found this:

That my friends is a jalapeno pepper.  As I've mentioned before in this blog, I'm part of a community garden and have picked some jalapenos in the last week.  Now, the question is, which animal decided to go into a plastic bag on the table (one of the cats for sure) and get this pepper.  Then the next question is where was this pepper before it made it to the bed, because it's been a couple of days since I had the peppers in the house.  And then who got it on the bed and chewed the top off?  At that point, it could be one of the cats or one of the three dogs in the house that did this.  Apparently it didn't taste all that great because there aren't that many chew marks on the pepper.
