Friends in my (our) life...

We have a friend, Gloria, who we have known now for maybe 8 to 10 years?  At least it feels as if she has been in our lives as long as Dawn and I have been together.  Tonight we were in her home and I saw this hanging from an oil lamp in the corner of her dining room.

Isn't that awesome?  I don't know why I hadn't noticed it before when I've been in her home, but this is so Gloria!  Her home is one of those places that you just want to take some time to look at all the neat art work, photos and other assorted interesting things that she has accumulated in her lifetime.

And this is Gloria:

She is one of the people in our lives that makes this area we live in home. In our past lives, Dawn and I have lived in various places and both of us have said that it would be hard to move away from here because we have made so many connections with people here.

Gloria is one of those ageless people to me, I know how old she is, but it's just a number and it definitely doesn't define her!  She has a special energy and outlook and I love hearing stories about her life - great stuff!  She is also one of the women I have performed the Vagina Monologues with!

As I take photos for this last year before I turn 50, I knew that I wanted to get a shot of Gloria, because she is important in my life and I'm honored to call her friend.  She is an inspiration to me also.  Thanks for the great meal and company, Gloria!
