Flashback Friday times two...
So the other night I was cleaning out one of the drawers of our filing cabinet, tossing old papers and such and found these photos in among all the stuff. Since both are older photos, I thought I share them both.
Don't freak out, I actually had long hair back in the day & super curly too (gotta love perms).
Here's the first one, circa late 1980's (I think)
Yes, that's Penn of Penn & Teller. Went to a film screening of their movie-straight-to-video Cruel Tricks For Dear Friends. Wikipedia - Cruel Tricks for Dear Friends This was when I lived in the Chicago area & was invited to this by my dear friend Brian. Obviously it was a lot of fun and yes, that's a casket behind us.
Ah yes, me, 1991 in my police dispatcher uniform. The skinny years, lol. I worked for the Brookfield Police Department for seven years I think. In total, I worked for 3 departments, Brookfield being the one I stayed at the longest. I still think fondly of the people I worked with during that time there, I worked with some really good people. I don't miss the 911 calls, domestics, bar fights etc., etc.
We had two phones, 4 lines for 911 & 4 lines for non-emergency calls. We had a computer so we could run people & cars and such. We had a typewriter for things like filling in parking tickets and reports. What you don't see is in front of me is the radio panel, full of buttons, lights and a few different radio bands - and somehow we were supposed to keep track of the officers, fire trucks, and other towns, no biggie, right? Ha!
So there you go, a little peek into my past during this year of photo reflection/blogging.
