My side....
Today I'm cheating a little bit - hey, what the hell, it's my blog, my rules, ok? ;-)
My mom, brother, his daughter (my niece) and her boyfriend came for a birthday visit. My brother & I were born 3 years, 3 days apart, so when the maternal grandparents were alive & we were much younger, they would drive up from Ohio and spend a long weekend or so with us & celebrate both birthdays at the same time.
Anyway, it was my mom's idea to drive down here this weekend to spend time with both of us together. Which I thought was really, really nice since Friday night was my non-profit's major fundraiser and it had been a long day and originally I thought that I was supposed to work yesterday. Got all that?
About the cheating, I was going to take a photo of my mom, bro & niece, (plus I'd rather be behind the camera then in front...), but then it wouldn't have been much of a family shot then, eh?
Here we are:
My beloved wife took the shot, allowing me to be in the photo. Even my brother is smiling! Having them here was a nice, we enjoyed a simple lunch, my mom bringing the sides and us supplying the homemade burgers. Yum. Everyone got their fill, we got to visit a bit and D got to try out my brother's PS3 & Resident Evil 5.
