The last day of Pride month...
and June and I was sitting here for the last hour trying to figure out what photo I was going to use to commemorate Pride 2011. So I started browsing through my photos that I shot in June seeing if any of them fit the bill when I came across this one:
This is my partner/wife Dawn, with her oldest niece. Dawn rocks my world, she is one of the most kind, thoughtful, intelligent, funny, quick-witted people I have ever known. We have been together for nine years and we've been through quite a bit in our relationship. Had she not been the person she is, I'm not sure we would still be together. But because she is this extraordinary human, my rock, my best friend, the one person in this world that I trust with my heart, we are still going strong as a couple.
So this is how I want to end Pride month, by honoring my wife. Because I'm proud to be her wife, even though there are those that deny our love, I want to stand proud and tell her I love her and thank her for being the best partner/wife for me. Dawn, I love you.
