Pre-birthday get together...

Tomorrow is my mom's birthday, but we had made plans already so we drove up to see her today.  She lives in the same house that my brother & I grew up in, so there are lots of memories every time I set foot in the house.

So it was just the wife & I, my brother and his daughter & her boyfriend.  And of course my mom cooked.  Nothing fancy, just good basic food.  Now before you think, wow, how come she had to cook for her birthday get together?, I will tell you what is up with that. My mom likes to feed people, always has and she's  pretty good in her little kitchen that is full of food stuff, dishes, pots & pans etc., moving around, getting the food ready.  When we set up the day for this, I did get her to let us bring the dessert.  And not just any old dessert would do!  We decided to spoil her and get her one of Bit O Swiss's homemade lemon & white chocolate cakes.  I hope she really enjoys it!

So here's the woman of the hour, getting dinner ready. (Of course, like most mom's, she really, really didn't want me to take her photo!)
