I can't pick just one...
This afternoon we drove over to one of my favorite spots in our county, Sarett Nature Center.
I had heard they now had a butterfly house, opened just this year. Besides in the last couple of years they had added a new addition onto the old section, which is absolutely beautiful also. If you are ever in the area, you need to see this new space!
So, it wasn't busy today and we had the butterfly house to ourselves, along with one of the employees. When we first walked in, there were butterflies flitting about everywhere!! Amazing. I think we might have been in there an hour and I was having a ball just shooting photos. Where I only see an occasional Monarch or Swallowtail in my flower gardens at home, here, there were dozens.
Which brings me to sharing a bunch of the photos with you, because seriously, I couldn't begin to pick my favorite. So here goes - lots of photos to browse through - enjoy the beauty that are the butterflies. These are just a few of the ones I shot, I may post some more in the next week if you all don't mind...
All these butterflies are native to the United States. According to the Naturalist, the government has strict regulations when it comes to keeping butterflies.
Sarett has also built a Tree Top Walkway, so we walked out on it, pretty high up & amazing views! But the best part is that I was able to experience this with Dawn!
