A day late...
Due to unforeseen circumstances, I didn't get a photo posted yesterday, so you will get two of them today. Here's the first one, pretend that it's still yesterday 8/9/11. :-)
I attended a Forum on Bullying at our local community college presented by the Michigan Civil Rights commission.
This photo was taken from inside, so there is some glare from the windows. This might be the only community college that decided when they built it to surround the buildings with water.
An interesting note is that Michigan is one of five states in the country that doesn't have any anti-bullying laws on the books. I think it doesn't because the politicians don't want to add any protections in about lgbt kids. Nice huh? Of course we also have a law on the books that states that marriage is only between a man & a woman - that one was voted in by a lot of Michigan's wonderful citizens. So being that the commission is government based, it would seem that they can't deal with issues concerning lgbt youth. The amazing part is that they did!! Whirlpool Pride and the OutCenter were represented and there were a few times that other speakers brought up lgbt issues!! Yeah!
On my way out after the forum, the clouds coming in from the east were looking a bit dark, this one is shot from the parking lot looking east.
Nice, of course I missed the rain we had last night, because I went to bed really early, but heck, I feel rested today!
See you later with today's photo blog!
