Flashback Friday...

I know I've written that I love old photos, but I really do!  Here's another one:

This is my Great, great grandmother.  She is my mother's mother's Grandma.  In her arms is my 2nd cousin, Arnold, 1x removed. (According to how Ancestry.com worked it out!)  Ever since I got involved in genealogy last year, being able to now place a name to the person has been wonderful!!  This is one of my favorites, I don't know where this was taken, though I think I could probably figure it out with a little more research.  I love that I can see my gr.gr. grandmother's face and dress.  She looks like a wee bit of a person, so I know I didn't get my height from her.

The donkey looks like it has a saddle on it and a bit in its mouth, so I have to wonder who else was there getting rides.

This photo is on the back of a postcard, lots of old photo were made this way then, but I'm glad no one ever used this for that purpose.  My grandmother had written on the back of the postcard who the two people were, so that was a big help.
