A long time coming...

It's been a couple of months since I posted anything here. Not what I intended when I started this blog, but let's just say I sidetracked myself.  Tonight, during a wonderful dinner with my girlie & a friend of ours, we had some very good conversation and some 'kicks in the ass' in my direction - all for the good of course, as good friends are able to do for each other.

So here it is, way past my bedtime & I'm wound up, so I decided to get back to this photo blog of mine and get one posted tonight.

I shot this a couple of weeks ago, found it while taking the back roads home.  I passed it and made myself turn around and go shoot some photos of this shack by the side of the road.  I don't know if it was someone's very small home at one time or some outbuilding of a long ago farm.  It's built very close to the road, but it now sits all by itself in an empty field.

There is something about buildings like this that speak to me as a photographer.  I'm still trying to figure out what it's saying to me, to I think that I'll keep shooting buildings like this and having my conversations with them until I hear them more clearly.

Now, what you can't see in this photo is all the graffiti that is inside.  I'll spare you the details of what's been left inside of this building, but I will share a bit of the graffiti - I can guess the age of the person who wrote it, but honestly, that's not important.  I find it interesting that the person who wrote this bit of graffiti basically wrote out a paragraph on part of the interior wall. (Warning - there's some swearing on this wall, so if you are easily offended, don't read it.)
